Horizon Crest NEIGHBORHOOD REFERENCE >> Recycling and Dispoal Recycling and Dispoal New Recycling and Yard Waste Rules from Rabanco
All information on recycling in our neighborhood is available at the Rabanco web site, or call 425.452-4762.
Our neighborhood can recycle:
• Food waste (all types of food scraps, even meat), which will go in with YARD debris. These materials will be recycled into compost, which is sold at garden stores
• Clean aluminum foil and food containers
• Plastic bags
• All plastic containers--plastic jugs and tubs numbered #1-#7, five-gallon plastic buckets
• Plastic film
• Textiles (clothing, curtains, etc)
• Small scrap electronics (computers, VCR's, etc.)
• Small appliances (toasters, blenders, etc.)
Hazardous waste items (chemicals, paints, etc.) can be taken to Factoria Transfer Station Thursday-Sunday, 9:00-5:00 (No charge). This is a good way to get rid of all the cans, bottles, etc. stacking up in the garage.
Latex Paint As of January 1, 2007 the Transfer Station and the Hazardous Waste Mobile no longer accept latex paint.
Your choices for latex paint disposal:
• Save it for future trim/touchups; or use as future primer coat
• Offer to donate it to a theatre group (e.g. Village Theatre in Issaquah, Bellevue Youth Theatre, etc.)
• Small amounts can be dried in the can and the dried can (with lid off) can be put in trash
• Larger amounts can be mixed with KITTY LITTER (fill the can about 3/4 full with kitty litter & stir) and let it dry until mixture is solid and no longer wet. This can be put in the garbage with lid off.
